The December McMoving Monthly

Happy 2025 to those who celebrate!

This month, it’s pretty simple. I spent most of December planning and then executing a cross-country move. Right now, I’m speeding across New Mexico, using my phone as a hotspot, while my cat mewls pitifully from her bed, which I’ve covered with a sweatshirt to simulate stillness and nighttime.

In and among constructing boxes and giving away an indoor tree and emailing Allied Van Lines repeatedly, Kim and I made another BFF video:

For our last sketch show together, I made a Fabergé egg head. I’ll spare you the time-lapses of me coating a birthday balloon in wet paper (for now), and show you the mid-way and the final:

After the show I told my mom “please bring this to your house and put it in the basement” and she did.

And I did a few house commissions in time for Christmas.

And there you have it! That’s my creative roundup for December. I have a thousand thoughts about leaving Chicago and setting up life in Los Angeles, some of which I’m sifting into a video for next time. But for now I’ll say (deep dramatic breath, belting) INTO THE UNKNOOOOOWN.
